< Turn 34
- Kassar trains while the rest of the Lions work with the town guard to limber up and prepare themselves
- Brother Garrik meets with Anson and discusses intel the city has on the undead. The surmise the location is near Skyreach.
- Lions head out to investigate. In the crags near the city they find the enemy hideout. A number of death knights (Grave Walkers) have gathered, seemingly lead by an Infernal Spawn. The same Spawn that attacked the Lions when they first traveled to Carenhold.
- The Lions get in ambush positions. Safira leads off with a ranged attack that wounds the spawn. Unfortunately the others can’t finish it off and it mutates, recovering and strengthening itself.
- Meanwhile Kassar lures most of the grave walkers away down a different route, keeping a ahead of them.
- Brother Garrik binds the spawn as the Lions pepper it with ranged attacks as it struggles against the holy restraints. It shrugs most of the attacks off but finally Safira and Waltom finish it off.
- The team races to the other flank to intercept the death knight captain. Garrik arrives in time to hit this group with a holy binding, and the archers are able to take out the sergeant before it can close.
- As the melee is truly joined, Aldric is the first casualty. The Lions struggle to deal with the death knights before the flanking force arrives. Eventually Garrik decides to use the essence crystal the Lions looted previously, confusing the captain and weakening it. Adara wounds him and drives him into wall but he fends her off. Walton gets a lucky shot to finish it but Kassar is also taken down by a death knight.
- With the leadership broken, the Lions quickly regroup and fight a much more coordinated battle. Though close, they’re finally able to finish off the death knights with no other casualties.
- Aldric and Kassar’s wounds prove superficial, and both look to have a short road ahead to recover.
- With the stronghold destroyed, the Whispers from Beyond no longer have any foothold in the region. The Lions are successful.
